SPEAKING OF TORNADO, DRAGONFLIES, LIFE AND SPIRITUALITY
“Unbelievable energies have been necessary to reconstruct the hotel destroyed by the tornado. I visited the rooms, received the samples of fabrics and wallpapers, observed the new furniture, trying to imagine how it would be once finished. I have felt the enthusiasm of Michela, of Riccardo, of all the collaborators and the designers. Inspired by the dragonflies, symbol of “rebirth”, I started to work on the canvasses that had to represent the rooms. After many sketches, drawings, tests, prototypes and experiencing with various techniques, from the dripping of Pollock, to the vermischen und vermalen of Gerhard Richter, to the frottage of Max Ernst, overlapping and again scratching and engraving, the 16 works have seen the light. The dragonfly is perceived as image of lightness and elegance, symbolizing maturity, awareness, agility and strength. At the same time it is transparent and colored, it is tied up to the magic power of dream and illusion, it is a messenger of positive strengths. “
